At the Human Rights Campaign, a key part of our work is creating a thriving community of vocal and visible LGBT people and straight allies empowered to speak out for equality.
We know from experience that Americans are much more likely to support issues of equality when they know lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) people. That's why changing hearts and minds often happens one conversation at a time.
As we head into summer, a time when many people gather and relax with friends and family, we invite you to join us in a Summer of Conversations.
It’s simple: host a gathering, formal or informal; invite your friends, colleagues, neighbors and loved ones; and begin the conversations we need to have in order to move equality forward. All that we ask is that you get the conversation started!
HRC will provide you with all the tools you need, from publications on coming out and being a straight ally to conversation guides and “action items” that you can incorporate into your event.
