This year’s Fairway to Equality Golf Tournament was one for the record books! With the Calcutta and the golf tournament, the committee was able to raise more than $60,000 for HRC. If you weren’t there, you missed a great time. The golf committee reports this may be the second best year ever! At the Friday night Calcutta event/auction alone, more than $32,000 was raised. Here are just some of the highlights:
Highlights of the 2014 Fairway to Equality
Your co-chairs…US – were auctioned off at the Friday night Calcutta event and then caddied all day Saturday for 2 teams. We provided a free flow of drinks, food, cookies, and lots of fun. We had amazing teams that did very well.
The tournament was a sell out with 36 fully booked teams of four (4). HRC and our allies took over the Buffalo Creek Golf Course in Rockwall where we received many hearty welcomes. The annual tournament is in its 24th year, so watch out for big plans for the 25th anniversary next year.
As you know, the Fairway to Equality Golf Tournament is the largest and longest-running golf event of its kind in the country, and the money it generates greatly benefits the work that HRC does in the fight for equality.
Again, thanks to everyone who worked so hard to make this event a success! Thanks to our sponsors without whom the tournament would not have been possible. And thanks to all of you who shared HRC’s commitment to equality by participating in the Fairway to Equality Golf Tournament and Calcutta.
Don't forget to reserve your seats for the Federal Club Summer Luncheon on Saturday June 28th!
